Ingredients

  • 4 lb. chili meat
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp. ground oregano
  • 1 tsp. cumin seed or cumin
  • 6 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 cups canned whole tomatoes
  • 2 to 6 dashes liquid hot pepper sauce
  • salt, to taste
  • 2 cups hot water

Instructions

  1. Place meat, onion, and garlic in a large, heavy fry pan.
  2. Cook over medium heat until the meat is lightly browned.
  3. Add oregano, cumin, chili powder, tomatoes, hot pepper sauce, salt, and hot water.
  4. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for about 1 hour.
