Ingredients

  • 4 (1 lb.) packages wieners
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons pepper
  • 4 1/2 ounces pepper sauce
  • 1 teaspoon pickling spices
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1/4 cup ground cumin
  • 4 cups white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Slice each wiener into three pieces.
  2. Combine the sliced wieners with sliced onion and set aside.
  3. In a pan, combine the sugar, pepper, pepper sauce, pickling spices, salt, ground cumin, and white vinegar.
  4. Bring this mixture to a boil and cook for about 3 minutes.
  5. Pour the hot pickling mixture over the wieners and onions in jars.
  6. Seal the jars tightly and refrigerate.
  7. Refrigerate for several days before serving to allow flavors to develop.
