Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup Wesson oil
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour (do not pack)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups peeled, diced tart apples
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Mix thoroughly the brown sugar, oil, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, then stir into the first mixture; do not overbeat.
  3. Add peeled, diced tart apples and chopped walnuts to the batter.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
