Ingredients

  • 5 cups apples, sliced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 to 4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 stick margarine

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Pare and slice the apples.
  3. Simmer apple peelings in water, covered, for 10 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  5. Add lemon and lemon juice to the sliced apples and mix thoroughly.
