Rugalach are delightful pastries with a rich cream cheese dough filled with nuts, raisins, cinnamon, and sugar, perfect for sweet snacking or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 bar cream cheese
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • chopped nuts
  • raisins
  • cinnamon and sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream the cream cheese and butter together.
  2. Add salt, flour, and sugar; mix until combined.
  3. Chill the dough until firm, about 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts.
  5. Roll out each part into a rectangle approximately 4 inches wide.
  6. Sprinkle each rectangle with chopped nuts, raisins, cinnamon, and sugar.
  7. Roll up each rectangle into a log and brush the top with cinnamon and sugar.
  8. Cut each log into 1-inch pieces.
  9. Bake the pieces at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
