Russian Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • juice and pulp of 2 oranges
  • grated rind of 1 orange
  • 2 tablespoons coconut

Instructions

  1. Mix the egg yolks, sugar, and flour in a double boiler and cook until the mixture thickens.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of coconut to the mixture while still hot.
  3. Let the sauce cool, then fold in 1/2 pint of whipped cream.
  4. Serve the sauce over slices of angel food cake.
