Ruth'S Famous Chowder
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. boneless fish (no skin) ⓘ
- 1 c. onions ⓘ
- 2 large potatoes ⓘ
- 2 c. celery ⓘ
- 2 carrots (optional) ⓘ
- 3 Tbsp. parsley ⓘ
- 1/2 stick margarine ⓘ
- salt and pepper to taste (optional) ⓘ
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms (stems and pieces) ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. dill weed ⓘ
- garlic powder to taste (optional) ⓘ
- 1 can mushroom soup ⓘ
- 3 c. milk ⓘ
- 1 c. water (if needed) ⓘ
Instructions
- Dice potatoes and boil (save water).
- Saute diced onions and celery and parsley in 1/2 stick of margarine.
- Put everything in the pot (except the fish) and bring to a boil.
- Cut the fish into medium-sized pieces (size not important as they cook apart).
- Add fish to boiling pot and bring to a boil.
- Simmer for 30 minutes.
