Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped celery
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Saute onions and celery in 1 tablespoon butter.
  2. Add ground beef and saute until browned.
  3. Drain excess fat from the beef.
  4. Add water, sliced mushrooms, oregano, basil, garlic, thyme, and brown sugar to the beef mixture.
  5. Heat the mixture to boiling.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve the sauce over hot, cooked spaghetti.
  8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
