Ingredients

  • 1 head torn lettuce
  • 3 large celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 cucumber, sliced or chopped
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 cup salad dressing or mayonnaise
  • 1 pound crumbled bacon, fried crisp
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large salad bowl, layer torn lettuce, chopped celery, onion rings, and sliced cucumber.
  2. Mix sour cream and sugar together and pour over the layered salad.
  3. Combine vinegar and salad dressing or mayonnaise and pour over the top of the salad.
  4. Sprinkle crumbled bacon over the salad.
  5. Top with Parmesan cheese and optional croutons or egg slices.
  6. Chill the salad for at least 2 to 4 hours before serving.
