Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/3 c. warm milk
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 4 c. sifted all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter; add sugar and eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
  2. Dissolve yeast in warm milk; add remaining milk.
  3. Sift together salt and flour; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  4. Cover and allow to stand in warm place until doubled (about 1 1/2 hours).
  5. Punch down and turn into a buttered ring mold or tube pan.
  6. Cover until doubled in size (about 30 minutes).
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  8. Turn out immediately onto wire rack to cool, right side up.
  9. Drizzle with vanilla icing while still warm.
