Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  2. Beat the mixture for 4 minutes.
  3. Pour the batter into a loaf pan (13 x 9 inches).
  4. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes or until the bread is browned and cooked through.
