Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. salted peanuts

Instructions

  1. Mix shortening, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla thoroughly.
  2. Blend in flour, salt, and soda until well combined.
  3. Stir in salted peanuts.
  4. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, about 2 inches apart, on a lightly greased sheet.
  5. Flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 375°.
