Ingredients

  • 2 c. torn iceberg lettuce
  • 2 c. curly endive
  • 2 c. romaine lettuce
  • 6 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1 medium red onion, sliced
  • 1 1/2 c. frozen peas, cooked
  • 1 c. Swiss cheese strips
  • 6 to 8 slices fried bacon, crumbled
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Layer the greens in the bowl, alternating iceberg lettuce, curly endive, and romaine lettuce.
  2. Dot each layer with 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1/3 cup sliced red onion, cooked peas, and Swiss cheese strips.
  3. Sprinkle the salad with 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. Top with crumbled fried bacon.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight before mixing and serving.
