Ingredients

  • 3 lb. lean boneless roast
  • 15 oz. can sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
  • 15 oz. can tomatoes, drained
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large apple, cored and sliced
  • 1 envelope onion gravy mix

Instructions

  1. Put apple slices in the crock-pot.
  2. Cut the roast in half and place it on top of the apples.
  3. Mix the sauerkraut, drained tomatoes, brown sugar, and onion gravy mix (except the gravy mix) and pour over the meat.
  4. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is done.
  5. Stir in the gravy mix during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
  6. Cover and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Serve over hot mashed potatoes with fresh carrots on the side.
