Sausage Filled Wontons
Crispy, savory sausage-filled wontons with melted cheese and herbs, perfect as an appetizer or snack for gatherings and casual occasions.

- Heat 4 inches of vegetable oil in a saucepan or deep-fryer to 350°F.
- Crumble the ground sausage into a large skillet; add chopped onion.
- Cook over medium heat until browned, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and drain drippings.
- Stir in shredded American cheese, cream cheese, dried marjoram, and dried tarragon; mix until cheeses melt and filling is combined.
- Lightly dampen a wonton wrapper by dipping your finger in water and wiping all edges to create a 1/4-inch border.
- Keep remaining wrappers covered with a damp towel to prevent drying.
- Place a rounded teaspoonful of sausage mixture in the center of each wrapper.
- Fold the wrapper over the filling to form a triangle, sealing edges and removing air bubbles.
- Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- Fry the filled wontons in the hot oil until golden brown, about 1 minute per batch.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with plum dipping sauce.
