Ingredients

  • 1 loaf sourdough or French bread
  • 1 1/2 lb pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup beer
  • 1 (1 1/2 oz) package spaghetti sauce mix
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • optional: onions

Instructions

  1. Cut the loaf of sourdough or French bread in half lengthwise.
  2. Pull crumbs from each section, leaving approximately 1/2-inch crust, resulting in about 3 cups of crumbs.
  3. Brown the pork sausage and drain excess fat.
  4. Over low heat, stir in the bread crumbs, beer, spaghetti sauce mix, and tomato sauce.
  5. Stuff the meat mixture into the bread halves.
  6. Place the stuffed bread together, wrap in foil, and seal.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 20 minutes.
