Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 pounds sausage (1 hot, 1 mild)
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 2 cans kidney beans
  • 1 can Great Northern beans
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 onions
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook and drain the sausages.
  2. Add all ingredients to a large pot.
  3. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer.
  4. Cook until potatoes are tender, about 45 minutes.
  5. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
