Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1 lb. grated cheese
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon powdered mustard
  • 4 slices bread
  • 1 stick margarine

Instructions

  1. Break 4 slices of bread into pieces and place them in the bottom of a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  2. Melt 1 stick of margarine and pour it over the bread pieces.
  3. Cook the sausage and drain any excess fat.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked sausage over the bread in the pan.
  5. Spread grated cheese over the sausage layer.
  6. In a bowl, beat together 8 eggs, 2 cups of milk, 1 teaspoon of powdered mustard, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the pan.
  8. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  9. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 35 minutes until set and golden.
