Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 to 3 lb. cut-up frying chicken
  • 1 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. ground sage
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. water

Instructions

  1. Rinse the chicken pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bag, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, pepper, ground sage, onion powder, crushed thyme, and garlic powder.
  3. In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs and water together until well combined.
  4. Place a few pieces of chicken at a time into the flour mixture bag and shake to coat evenly.
  5. Dip the coated chicken pieces into the beaten eggs and water mixture.
  6. Return the chicken to the flour bag and shake again to ensure a thorough coating.
  7. Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 30 minutes.
