Savory ham bread combines tender ham, sharp cheese, and green onions in a moist, cheesy casserole, perfect for brunch or a hearty snack that appeals to all ages.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup green onion and tops
  • 3 tablespoons Wesson oil
  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 1 cup chopped cooked ham or corned beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 1/2 cups grated sharp cheese
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seed
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Saute green onions in 1 tablespoon of oil for approximately 2 minutes.
  2. Combine Bisquick and chopped cooked ham or corned beef in a bowl.
  3. Mix remaining oil, eggs, milk, mustard, sautéed onions, and half of the grated cheese.
  4. Add the wet mixture to the ham and Bisquick mixture and stir until well combined.
  5. Spread the mixture in a greased 10-inch round casserole dish, 1 to 1 1/2 inches deep.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese and sesame seed (if desired) on top.
  7. Pour melted butter or margarine over the top.
  8. Bake at 375°F for 35 to 40 minutes.
  9. Cut into wedges and serve hot with butter.
