Ingredients

  • 5 or 6 large apples, peeled and quartered
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly.
  2. Arrange peeled and quartered apples and the crumb mixture alternately in a greased baking dish.
  3. Combine 2 teaspoons of lemon juice with 1/2 cup water and pour over the layered apples.
