Ingredients

  • 3 3/4 oz. can King Oscar or Spirit of Norway sardines in oil, drained
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 Tbsp. Dijon-style mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
  • 2 oz. chopped pimentos

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, mash sardines lightly with a fork.
  2. Add shredded Swiss or Monterey Jack cheese, sliced green onions, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, grated lemon peel, and chopped pimentos.
  3. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  4. Serve with crackers or snack bread.
  5. Garnish with parsley and lemon slices if desired.
