Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 (30 oz.) can fruit cocktail, drained
  • 1 (8 3/4 oz.) can pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons slivered toasted almonds

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; stir in the granulated sugar.
  2. Fold in the drained fruit cocktail and pineapple tidbits.
  3. Stir until the dry ingredients are moist.
  4. Turn the mixture into a buttered 9-inch square baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle with brown sugar and then the toasted slivered almonds.
  6. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 1 hour.
  7. Cut into squares and serve warm with whipped cream.
