Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Blend in brown sugar.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla and self-rising flour.
  5. Mix thoroughly; stir in chopped nuts if using.
  6. Pour into a greased and floured 10 x 13-inch pan.
  7. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 18 to 20 minutes.
