Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 (10 oz) can vegetable soup
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon dried whole thyme
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef, chopped onions, and chopped celery in a large skillet until the meat is browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add vegetable soup to the skillet and stir well.
  3. Stir in dried whole thyme to the mixture.
  4. Spoon the meat mixture into a lightly greased 2-quart shallow casserole dish.
  5. Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the meat mixture.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes until heated through and the top is golden.
