Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. ladyfingers
  • 1 pkg. plain gelatin
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sherry
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 pint whipped cream
  • shavings of chocolate

Instructions

  1. Line two pie pans with ladyfingers.
  2. Dissolve plain gelatin in cold water.
  3. Beat egg yolks, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, and sherry together.
  4. Place the mixture in a double boiler and cook until thick.
  5. Add the cooked mixture to the dissolved gelatin and mix well.
  6. Beat egg whites and the remaining 1/2 cup sugar until glossy.
  7. Fold the beaten egg whites into the gelatin mixture.
  8. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie pans.
  9. Let the pies cool completely.
  10. Top with whipped cream.
  11. Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top.
