Ingredients

  • 1 lb. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. rum
  • 2 drops vanilla
  • grated rind of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 lb. butter

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients to form a stiff dough.
  2. Work the dough until smooth and pliable.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to get cold and firm.
  4. Roll out the dough thinly and cut into various shapes.
  5. Bake in the oven on the top rack until lightly browned.
  6. Decorate with sugar, frostings, or sandwich with jam.
