Shrimp Dejohn is a flavorful seafood dish featuring succulent green shrimp in a garlic sherry butter sauce, topped with seasoned bread crumbs and broiled to golden perfection, ideal for elegant dinners.

Ingredients

  • 20 large green shrimp, cleaned and drained
  • 1/4 lb. margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, put through garlic press
  • 1/4 c. dry sherry
  • 1 c. bread crumbs unseasoned
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
  • juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine and butter in a large 9 to 10-inch skillet.
  2. Add garlic and dry sherry; cook about 2 minutes.
  3. Add shrimp and cook about 3 minutes; do not overcook.
  4. Line cooked shrimp and drippings in a pie plate.
  5. Add remaining drippings to bread crumbs along with chopped parsley and lemon juice.
  6. Mix until all the crumbs are dampened.
  7. Spread crumbs over shrimp and broil until golden brown.
  8. Serve immediately.
