Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. small fresh or frozen uncooked shrimp
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup Casera sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground saffron
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 1/2 cup half and half

Instructions

  1. Peel and devein the shrimp; chop them.
  2. Place the shrimp, 1 cup of chicken broth, and the Casera sauce in a blender.
  3. Cover and blend on high speed until smooth.
  4. Heat the shrimp mixture, the remaining broth, salt, saffron, and pepper to boiling.
  5. Mix the cornstarch and water; stir into the shrimp mixture to thicken.
  6. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Stir in the half and half.
  9. Garnish with parsley before serving.
