Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 8 oz Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 3/4 lb margarine
  • 4 juicy red apples
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, cream cheese, and margarine in a bowl, working into a smooth pastry.
  2. Put the pastry into the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  3. Peel and slice the apples.
  4. Roll out the pastry on a well-floured surface.
  5. Place the pastry into a baking pan.
  6. Neatly arrange the apple slices on top of the pastry.
  7. Sprinkle the apples with sugar, cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg.
  8. Cut the butter into bits and evenly distribute on top of the apples and spices.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
