Simple Bouillabaisse
Ingredients
- 4 yellow onions ⓘ
- 5 Tbsp. butter ⓘ
- 3 sliced green bell peppers
- 3 potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 lb. clams ⓘ
- 1 minced clove garlic ⓘ
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley ⓘ
- 1 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 4 c. boiling water ⓘ
- 1 lb. fish fillets ⓘ
- 16 large shrimp, peeled and deveined ⓘ
- 1/2 lb. scallops ⓘ
- 2 cans (15 oz.) tomatoes ⓘ
- 1 bottle (8 oz.) clam juice
- 1 can (6 1/2 oz.) Alaskan king crab ⓘ
Instructions
- In
- a
- large 14-inch Dutch oven simmer onions in butter until slightly browned.
- Add peppers, potatoes, clams, garlic, bay leaf, parsley
- and
- salt.
- Cook for a few minutes longer. Add
- boiling water.
- Cover
- and gently simmer for 25 minutes. Add the fish fillets and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add shrimp and scallops and cook
- for
- 5
- more minutes.
- Add tomatoes, clam juice and
- blend. Add
- the
- crab
- meat and cook for 5 minutes more.
