Ingredients

  • 7 cups sliced, peeled apples
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup melted margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Grease a pie plate.
  2. Fill it two‑thirds full with sliced, peeled apples.
  3. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon over the apples.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup melted margarine, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Pour the batter over the apples.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until golden brown.
