Ingredients

  • 3 lb. cabbage, grated
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1/2 c. Wesson oil
  • 1/2 c. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Mix together the sugar, mustard seed, and celery seed with the Wesson oil, vinegar, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Pour the hot mixture over the grated cabbage, chopped bell pepper, and sliced onion.
  4. Toss to combine and refrigerate.
  5. Let sit for several hours or overnight for flavors to meld. Will last for days in the fridge.
