Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add vanilla.
  3. Mix well and divide dough into thirds.
  4. Leave one section of dough plain; shape into a long roll the diameter of a half dollar.
  5. To 1/3 dough, add cinnamon and nutmeg.
  6. Shape into a roll.
  7. To the other 1/3, add butterscotch chips, chopped nuts, dates, coconut, M&M's or other desired mix-ins.
  8. Shape, chill, and store in the fridge.
  9. Slice and bake as needed.
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while warm.
