Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1/2 cup sweet milk
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons lemon extract

Instructions

  1. Cream oleo and Crisco together.
  2. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar and beat well.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Add milk alternately with flour and baking powder, mixing after each addition.
  5. Beat the batter well after adding each ingredient.
  6. Blend in lemon extract.
  7. Beat well again.
  8. Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan and bake at 325°F for 55 minutes.
