Ingredients

  • 3/4 to 1 lb. fully cooked smoked sausage links, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
  • 4 slices bacon, cut in pieces
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 medium potatoes, cut into pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a large saucepan until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon and set aside.
  3. Add onions to the saucepan and cook until tender.
  4. Pour off the drippings from the saucepan.
  5. Add potatoes, water, salt, and pepper to the saucepan.
  6. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover tightly, and simmer for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  7. Add milk, cooked sausage, and bacon to the saucepan.
  8. Stir and heat slowly for 10 to 12 minutes.
  9. Serve hot.
