A hearty, comforting casserole combining macaroni, savory meat, vegetables, and melted cheese, perfect for a quick family dinner that’s both satisfying and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup macaroni
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 medium size pimento
  • 1 pound hamburger meat
  • 1 quart tomatoes
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni until al dente; set aside.
  2. Cook chopped onion, chopped celery, and pimento in a little butter until tender.
  3. Add hamburger meat to the vegetable mixture and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. In a casserole dish, combine cooked macaroni, tomatoes, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add the meat and vegetable mixture to the casserole dish and mix well.
  6. Bake at 350°F until the mixture becomes thick and bubbly, about 20-25 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven, sprinkle cheese on top and let it melt.
  8. Serve hot with Italian bread on the side.
