Crunchy, cheesy snack balls with melted Provolone and Cheddar, perfect for parties or as a flavorful appetizer that appeals to cheese lovers and snack enthusiasts alike.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup finely grated Provolone cheese
  • 14 1/2 cubes Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup crumbled bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • a generous dash of pepper
  • 2 teaspoons French mustard

Instructions

  1. Place cooked rice and grated cheese in a bowl and mix.
  2. Pack a ball of the rice and cheese mixture around each cube of cheese.
  3. Add melted butter, salt, pepper, and French mustard to the beaten egg and mix well.
  4. Dip each rice and cheese ball into the egg mixture, then roll in bread crumbs.
  5. Deep fry the coated balls for 7 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove and let drain and cool on paper towels.
