A comforting sweet potato dish with warm spices, topped with marshmallows and nuts, perfect for holiday gatherings or as a sweet side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 large cans yams
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the canned yams, eggs, brown sugar, salt, nutmeg, melted butter, cinnamon, and vanilla with a beater until it looks like mashed potatoes.
  2. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from the oven and top with mini marshmallows and chopped walnuts if desired.
  4. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the marshmallows are browned.
