Ingredients

  • 1 (2 lb.) package frozen bread dough rolls
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 quarts boiling water
  • 1 egg white
  • sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Defrost frozen bread dough rolls in the refrigerator overnight or at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Shape each roll into a 12-inch strip and twist into a pretzel shape.
  3. Let the shaped pretzels rise, uncovered, for 30 to 45 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil in a large pot.
  6. Briefly boil each pretzel in the water for about 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon.
  7. Brush the pretzels with slightly beaten egg white.
  8. Sprinkle with sesame, caraway, poppy seed, or coarse salt as desired.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
