- Sprinkle yeast into very warm water and stir in 1 teaspoon honey. Let stand for 10 minutes.
- Mix butter, salt, boiling water, and remaining honey in a large bowl; cool to lukewarm.
- Beat the egg in a small cup; reserve 1 tablespoon.
- Stir the remaining egg into the butter mixture.
- Stir in the yeast mixture until blended.
- Add two cups of flour and gradually stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough. Do not knead.
