Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. water
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 2 to 2 1/2 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle yeast into very warm water and stir in 1 teaspoon honey. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix butter, salt, boiling water, and remaining honey in a large bowl; cool to lukewarm.
  3. Beat the egg in a small cup; reserve 1 tablespoon.
  4. Stir the remaining egg into the butter mixture.
  5. Stir in the yeast mixture until blended.
  6. Add two cups of flour and gradually stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough. Do not knead.
