Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 (12 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. Melt butter, sugar, and water; heat just to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir in vanilla and chocolate chips until mixture is smooth. Transfer to mixing bowl.
  6. Add eggs; beat well.
  7. Cool for 15 minutes.
  8. Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
  9. Spread into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  10. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
