Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. dark corn syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. salted peanuts

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan with waxed paper.
  3. Beat margarine or butter and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Mix in all-purpose flour, dark corn syrup, and egg until well combined.
  5. Stir in salted peanuts.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan.
  7. Bake until light brown, about 25 minutes.
  8. Loosen the layer from the sides of the pan while still warm.
  9. Invert onto a wire rack.
  10. Carefully remove the waxed paper.
  11. Allow to cool completely.
  12. Break into pieces and serve.
