Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. Olive oil
  • 1/2 large Onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • 1 x 15 1/2 oz. can Whole, peeled Italian tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. Tomato puree
  • 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 pkg. Brown gravy mix
  • 1-1 1/2 lb. Ground beef
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef, drain away fat, and set aside.
  2. In a large pan, heat the olive oil and add the chopped onion and crushed garlic; cook until soft but not brown.
  3. Add the cooked beef to the pan and stir to heat through.
  4. Chop the canned tomatoes well and add them along with the tomato puree to the pan.
  5. Add Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and gravy mix; bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour.
  6. If necessary, thicken the sauce with cornstarch mixed with a little water.
  7. Cook the spaghetti in boiling water for about 7 minutes, then drain and rinse with boiling water.
  8. Serve the sauce over the spaghetti and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
