- Cook the raisins in 3 cups water and boil for 5 minutes; drain and cool.
- To 1 1/2 cups raisin water, add baking soda.
- Then alternately add flour, spices and nuts along with the raisins. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Tastes real good with a buttercream frosting.
