Instructions

  1. Combine cocoa, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a saucepan. Blend in hot water and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 2 minutes.
  2. Add milk to the saucepan.
  3. Heat the mixture to serving temperature, stirring occasionally.
  4. Do not boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla and cloves.
  5. Beat with a rotary beater until foamy. Serve hot.
