- In a large saucepan, dissolve the cranberry juice concentrate in cold water.
- Add the sugar, thinly sliced lemon, cinnamon stick, and cloves to the saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
- Add 5 or 6 apple halves to the boiling mixture.
- Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the apples are almost tender.
- Discard the lemon slices, cinnamon stick, and cloves.
- Chill the compote and serve, or store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
