Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • dash of allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup light cream

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, allspice, cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg in a bowl.
  2. In a large bowl of electric mixer, beat egg whites at high speed until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually beat in half of the sugar mixture until stiff peaks form.
  4. In a small bowl, beat egg yolks until lemon-colored.
  5. Gradually beat in the remaining sugar mixture until thick and smooth, then fold thoroughly into the whites.
  6. Stir in chilled milk and cream, mixing well.
  7. Serve well chilled, each serving sprinkled with nutmeg.
  8. Add spirits to your own preference.
