Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 medium peaches
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the peaches, then place them into an 8x8-inch square cake pan.
  2. Sprinkle the peaches with brown sugar and dot with butter.
  3. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg evenly over the peaches.
  4. Combine sugar, sifted flour, salt, baking powder, and milk to make the batter.
  5. Pour the batter over the peaches in the pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
