Ingredients

  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 6 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tsp. mustard powder
  • 1 hot pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 pinch alum
  • 1 large dill weed
  • small fresh okra

Instructions

  1. Bring vinegar, water, salt, celery seed, and mustard powder to a boil and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Stuff jars with small fresh okra, hot pepper, garlic cloves, alum, and dill weed.
  3. Pour the hot liquid over the okra and remaining ingredients in the jars.
  4. Seal the jars and let them sit for pickling to develop flavor.
